Best Paper Awards at 29th IET Annual Technical Conference, 2022

A research team consisting of staff members and students attached to the Faculty of Computing received the best paper awards for the paper titled “Design and Development of Wearable Text Reading Device for Visually Impaired People” and also the third place for the paper titled “Study on Designing a High-Performance IoT Sensor Node Using a Single Board Computer Cluster (SBC)” at the 29th IET Annual Technical Conference 2022 held on 20th August 2022 at the Galadari Hotel, Colombo.

The authors of the winning papers are as follows,

  • Best paper – “Design and Development of wearable text reading device for visually impaired people” by MWP Maduranga, NT Jayatilake, PADV Pannala and SPARS Jayatilake.
  • Third Place – “Study on designing a high-performance IoT sensor node using a single board computer cluster” by YR Samarawickrama, NT Jayatilake, MWP Maduranga, WAAM Wanniarachchi and WMSRB Wijayarathna.

The above conference was organized by the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), Sri Lanka Network. Ms NT Jayatilake participated in this event to represent the FOC.
