Faculty Corporate Social Responsibility 2022 Project Launch

The inauguration ceremony of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project titled “Course on Basics of Computing” to the Senior Officers of Sri Lanka Police Department organized by the Faculty of Computing was held on 10th February 2022 via Zoom.

The Rector Southern Campus Major General Prasad Edirisinghe, the Dean faculty of computing Dr Asela Gunasekara and Executive Director National Police Academy, Deputy Inspector General Sanjeewa Medawatte appeared as the special invitees of this occasion.

Delivering the welcome speech Dr Asela Gunasekara mentioned that the faculty has chosen Sri Lanka Police which is the closest force to the civilians to be aware and educated on the fundamentals of computing and he mentioned that this is the very first instance which tailored the collaboration with Sri Lanka Police.

Deputy Inspector General Sanjeewa Medawatte expressed his sincere gratitude to General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University for granting this wonderful opportunity for the Sri Lanka police department.

The Rector southern campus stated that this course will build a platform for the betterment of the career and personal life of the individuals undergoing this course and well as he mentioned that he is glad not only Tri-forces but also the Sri Lanka Police Department is also being benefited by the KDU.

The inauguration ceremony concluded with a brief introduction to the course outline delivered by the CSR project coordinator, Mr Indika de Silva.
