Ms Hansini Weerasinghe is a student from Intake 34, who is attached to the Department of Information Technology, Faculty of Computing. She is currently working as a Solution Engineer at Hitachi Digital Payments Solutions Pvt(ltd). She completed her BSc (Hons) Information Technology degree and is soon to be graduated. She is a research enthusiast and published several research papers on machine learning, consumer behaviour, cyber security, and data mining.

She received the first-ever Research Excellence Award for the Best Research Student at General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University by considering her research skills, publications and presentations on highly recognized journals and conferences.

Also, she became a finalist of the emerging leaders’ program conducted by Harvard University, USA in 2019. Ms Weerasinghe is also a youth activist and volunteer of the United Nations volunteer program.
