Awareness Session of the First Sri Lankan Student Chapter of British Computer Society.
It is with pride and pleasure that we announce the awareness session of the BSC student chapter of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University was successfully held on the 26th of January 2021. The awareness session took place via Zoom due to the prevailing pandemic situation in the country. Ms. Olivia Wolfheart, MBCS Membership Engagement Manager, BCS UK head office was the guest speaker while Mr. Stephen Tweed, Director of International Sales BCS UK head office, and Ms. Deepashika Gunasekara, MBCS Regional Manager of BCS Sri Lanka Regional Office were virtually present for the session as guests. Dean of Faculty of Computing, Commodore JU Gunaseela USP psc, Head of the Department of the Department of Computer Science, Dr. Asela Gunasekara, Head of the Department of the Department of Computer Engineering, Dr. Budditha Hettige, Head of the Department of the Department of Information Technology, Mr. Pathum Kathriarachchi, Dr. Wijendra Gunathilaka, Miss. Vinodya Samarasinghe and other staff members of the Faculty of Computing interactively participated in this session. The executive committee members of the BCS student chapter and students of the Faculty of Computing participated in the session to enliven and make the session a success. The chapter is eagerly awaiting to conduct many interesting events in the near future.
