Projects/Research
PhD RESEARCH
- Sequence image data fusion for automotive applications (2000 – 2004)-Australia/Germany
- Developing a real time traffic sign recognition system for vehicles. A video camera is used to capture video sequences in an automobile. Image processing, pattern recognition and classification techniques, artificial intelligence are involved. Software testings were done in Matlab and C++. Part of the research had been carried out in Robert Bosch Laboratories in Germany. I spent nearly one and a half years in Germany and the remainder in The University of Melbourne, Australia.
MASTERS PROJECTS
- Parallel Implementation of Pattern Directed Game Tree Search in Computer Chess (1999)- NTU, Singapore
Main objective of this project is to combine the human thinking power, expert chess knowledge and the parallel computation power to achieve better results in computer chess. More details can be found in the paper in the proceedings of the IASTED International Conference on AI and Soft Computing, 1999, Honolulu, Hawaii. - Frequency optimization using genetic algorithms (1997)- NUS, Singapore
In electronic circuits the output frequencies depend on the temperature. The aim of this project is to determine the values of circuit components that minimize such distortions.
