Induwara Rupasinghe

Leading the charge as the current President (2023-2024) of the Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL) GenZ chapter at KDU fills me with immense pride. As an undergraduate pursuing a BSc (Hons) in Information Technology at General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, My journey began fueled by a passion for the IT field and a desire to foster a strong student community. Witnessing the chapter's rapid growth and transformation into a prominent organization within the Faculty of Computing at KDU, encompassing both Rathmalana and Southern campuses, brings me immense satisfaction. This achievement wouldn't have been possible without the dedication and hard work invested throughout my involvement. Serving two consecutive terms as Vice President (2021-2023) played a crucial role in establishing the chapter as the first student club affiliated with the prestigious CSSL. This experience provided invaluable knowledge and skills that I've actively leveraged to propel the chapter forward. My commitment extends beyond leadership roles. Extensive event management experience includes serving as an organizing committee member for the National IT Conference (NITC) for three consecutive years (2021-2023) and actively compereing several CSSL events. Furthermore, a dedication to knowledge sharing has led me to spearhead the organization of tech talks and quiz competitions, enriching the learning experience for fellow KDU students. My contributions extend beyond the chapter, actively participating in organizing Faculty of Computing events like the Career Fair and Student Symposium. It brings immense pride to acknowledge the role I played in laying the foundation for the establishment of CSSL Gen Z chapters in other Sri Lankan universities. My leadership and dedication within the KDU chapter have paved the way for future growth and a wider impact within the Sri Lankan IT community.
