The GenZ chapter of the Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL) at the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) was inaugurated in 2021 by the Faculty of Computing, marking a significant milestone as the university's inaugural Student Chapter affiliated with CSSL. This initiative serves as a pivotal platform for undergraduate students, offering them valuable opportunities for personal and professional development in the field of Information Technology (IT).
Since its establishment, the CSSL GenZ Chapter at KDU has consistently contributed to the cultivation of IT professionalism among its members. The chapter plays a crucial role in providing a conducive environment for undergraduates to augment their knowledge and build essential skills, ultimately preparing them for future careers in the IT industry. The CSSL GenZ Chapter actively fosters a supportive community for its members, organizing a variety of activities and events. These initiatives are designed to enhance the academic and professional networks of the undergraduates. Through participation in these organized events, students have the chance to broaden their understanding of the IT landscape and establish valuable connections within the industry.
Under the guidance of Dr. (Mrs) Nirosha Wedasinghe, who serves as the Chapter Patron and a council member, the CSSL GenZ Chapter at General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University continues to energetically and enthusiastically contribute to the development of IT professionals among its undergraduate members.
