Runners Up – One Hack-a-thon
One Hack-a-thon is an initiative designed to encourage developers, start-ups, technology students, management students, and technology experts to unite and develop solutions that’ll help combat the pandemics of the future at a global scale.
With the participation over 500 teams from 20 countries around the world (Including USA & India), Team DeathCompany from General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University was able to mark their achievement as runner up of Srilanka and being finalist of Global Competition where they compete toe to toe with top finalists from those countries.
Team DeathCompany consist of four 3rd year undergraduates from the Faculty of Computing, General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University.
- Vidura Dhananjaya (Lead) – Computer Science
- Kaveen Abeyrathna – Computer Engineering
- Kusal Siriwardhana – Software Engineering
- Charith Bimsara – Computer Science
They developed a contact tracing application to cater in pandemic situations as well in post pandemics as well with the ability of covering all the range of mobile phones (smartphones + feature phones).
