Curriculum Development and Revision Committee
Background
The CDRC of FOC was established for the purpose of continually revise, review and regulate the quality of the curricula of the degree programs which are undertaken by the faculty. The committee works in close collaborations with all departments to ensure standards of all six-degree programs to meet quality requirements specified by the accreditation guidelines of ACM/IEEE standards and the Sri Lanka Quality Assurance Framework (SLQF) .
The CDRC composition is a chairperson, secretary, heads of departments, representatives for each degree program and chairperson of faculty QA cell. The chairperson and representatives are appointed by the faculty board. The CDRC committee meets monthly to discuss the matters pertaining to the curriculums of all degree programs.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Make recommendation to the Faculty Board on new/revised curricular
- Consider and advise the Faculty Board on measures of the quality of teaching and learning in the Faculty and on student progression.
- Consider ways to enhance and improve the learning experiences of Computer Science students. • Promote debate and discussion within the Faculty on curriculum development through activities such as presentations and workshops on teaching, learning and assessment methods.
- Promote academic staff skills development particularly with regard to teaching, learning and assessment methods
