12th International Research Conference 2019

The 12th International Research Conference (IRC) under the theme of ‘Challenges to Humankind in the Face of New Technologies’ was held on 11th and 12th of September, 2019 at KDU in Ratmalana.

The Faculty of Computing organized the Plenary session and parallel technical sessions under the theme of  “Smart Solutions for Challenges Facing Humankind in the Information Age”.

The plenary session was conducted on the 11th of September 2019  with the following speakers who shared their views on the session.

Prof. Abhaya Induruwa (Plenary Session Chair) – Realising the Potential of Internet of Things: Can we afford to miss the opportunity?

Prof. Prasad Jayaweera  – Interoperability! An exigent necessity for SMART Solutions

Prof. Koliya Pulasinghe – Assistance to Companionship: Role of Socially Assistive Robots

Dr Sanjiva Weerawarana – Enabling Efficient Delivery of Government Digital Services while Maintaining Privacy

The technical technical sessions were conducted on the 12th of September 2019 on various topics under Information Technology, Computer Science and Artificial Intellegence.

The best paper was awarded to DMR Kulasekara, D Sandaruwan, C Keppitiyagama and ND Kodikara for the paper titled ‘Automatic Projector Calibration for Mobile Projection on Planar Surfaces’.

The best poster presentation was awarded to ANJA De Silva and T Arudchelvam for the poster titled ‘User-Level Security for Image Transferring in Mobile Devices’.
