On August 22, 2024, the Faculty of Computing’s Entrepreneurial Support, Industrial Training & Career Guidance Unit (eICU) organized an insightful event titled “New Technology Landscape and Job Role Redefinition.” The session was led by Mr. Chandimal Wickramaratne, the Chief Executive Officer of Embla Software Innovation (Pvt) Ltd. The event, held via Zoom from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, provided a deep dive into the evolving technological landscape and its impact on the future of work.

As a 3rd-year IT student, this session was particularly relevant and timely, offering a glimpse into the future that we, as soon-to-be graduates, are about to step into. Mr. Wickramaratne’s discussion emphasized how technological advancements are not only reshaping industries but also redefining job roles across the board.
