The practical workshop was organized by senior lecturer Mr. RPS Kathriarachchi, which was held on January 31, 2024, in the Faculty of Computing, Southern Campus. Intake 39 IT undergraduate students participated in this workshop. Students got hands-on experience in the LAN-wiring area of industrial networking.
Mr. RPS Kathriarachchi delivered a comprehensive explanation of LAN wiring tools, techniques, safety rules, and best practices in the industry. After his explanation, students got hands-on experience making LAN cables, connecting them to patch panels, and testing cables to see if they were working or not with cable testers. Students could clarify their problems regarding practical’s by discussing with Mr. RPS Kathriarachchi.
This workshop helped to enhance students’ practical skills and industrial knowledge about networking.
